Bassam Tariq has stepped away from directing Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade’. In a statement from Marvel, the ‘Mogul Mowgli’ director can no longer fulfil the role due to the “continued shifts in our production schedule”. Tariq is still attached as executive producer and said he is “Eager to see where the next director takes the film.”
‘Blade’ is due to start shooting in November and has a tight schedule to hit its 3rd November 2023 release date. Marvel have started the search for a new director but it is unclear what impact it will have on the film.
Mahershala Ali is set to play Blade and he will be supported by Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre.
