The about to start shooting second season of ‘Andor’ is going to lead directly into ‘Rogue One’. This made it very likely that the Yavin 4, home of the famous Rebel base from ‘A New Hope’, would be making an appearance.
This has now be confirmed by Tony Gilroy, the show’s creator, during an interview with Collider. Gilroy revealed that one of the new writers onboard for the next run is Tom Bissell, a newcomer to the franchise but a massive Star Wars.
Tom Bissell is really cool and really, really interesting, versatile, really good writer. But also a very, very, very big Star Wars fan, which we really wanted to make sure we had another pro because we’re going into Rogue [One], and we’re going to Yavin, and then we’re going into places where we eventually need to really weave our way back to the source. So Tom came in, and he’s been great. So he’s got some episodes too.
