HBO Max has hired Jason Fuchs and Brad Caleb Kane as joint showrunners for their upcoming ‘It’ prequel. The show currently has the working title ‘Welcome To Derry’ and will be produced by Andy and Barbara Muschietti.
HBO Max have committed to a production deal but the exact plot details remain under wraps, aside from the fact that the show will serve as a prequel to the recent films ‘It: Chapter One’ and ‘It: Chapter Two’, both directed by Andy Muschietti, which were released in 2017 and 2019 respectively.
Fuchs wrote the teleplay for the first episode of the series, based on a story he wrote alongside Andy and Barbara Muschietti. Fuchs and Kane will executive produce along with the Muschiettis, with Andy eyed to direct the premiere episode for Warner Bros. Television.
