The week sees the release of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’. It is the thirtieth film to be released as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which began back in 2008 with ‘Iron Man’.
What started out as an idea to emulate comic book storytelling on screen by having a connected universe of films, using what was considered to be second tier Marvel characters at the time, and then bring all the characters together for an event has now become unstoppable blockbuster juggernaut. We now have years worth of films mapped out in advance with no sign of it slowing down.
Marvel Studios have told stories using different genres and styles resulting in them consistently producing hits at a rate not matched by any others in modern cinema.
