
James Gunn has announced that DC Studios will be releasing certain projects that fall outside of the DCU under the Elseworlds label. Elseworlds was an title used by DC Comics for stories that fell outside of the ongoing continuity and gave creators freedom with the characters. Famous titles released under this label include ‘Kingdom Come’, ‘Superman: Red Sun’, and ‘Gotham by Gaslight’.
Films that will be released under this label include ‘The Batman Part II’ and ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’. Gunn confirmed that Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Black Superman film is still in development and will fall into this category. It was also mentioned that ‘Teen Titans Go!’ will be apart of this.
‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ is due 4th October 2024 and ‘The Batman Part II’ will be released on 3rd October 2025′
