
‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ looks set to be the latest dormant franchise to get the legacy sequel treatment.
Deadline are reporting that Sony looking to director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson to resurrect the film series with a script from Leah McKendrick. Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. are already in talks to reprise their characters from the original film two films.
The original film followed four young friends bound by a tragic accident who are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac in their small seaside town. It helped launch the careers of Hewitt, Prinze, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Ryan Phillippe and was written by Kevin Williamson who was hot off ‘Scream’.
No plot details have been released and no production schedule is currently set.
