Director David Gordon Green and producer Jason Blum were on hand at CinemaCon to announce the title of the new ‘Exorcist’ film and screen the first footage.
The film, a direct sequel to the 1973 original, is titled ‘The Exorcist: Believer’.
Green’s film, co-written with Scott Teems and Danny McBride, features Leslie Odom Jr. as the father of a possessed daughter who tracks down Chris MacNeil, played by Ellen Burstyn reprising her role from the original, for answers. It has also been rumoured that Linda Blair could be returning in the role of Regan MacNeil in some compacity
Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles, and Olivia Marcum co-star.
‘The Exorcist: Believer’ is released on 13th October.
