Nicolas Cage has signed on to star alongside Bill Skarsgård in a sequel to his 2005 film ‘Lord Of War’. The film, ‘Lords Of War’, will once again be directed by Andrew Niccol.
Bill Skarsgård will play Anton, the son of Cage’s character, arms dealer Yuri Orlov, from the original film. ‘Lords Of War’ will see Yuri find out that his son is trying to top his father’s wrongs rather than stop them as he launches a mercenary army to fight America’s Middle East conflicts.
There is so much more to explore with these characters. Plato said it best — ‘Only the dead have seen the end of war.’ I’m looking forward to spending more time in the company of the charming devil that is Yuri Orlov and now his illegitimate son – who turns out to not be legitimate in any way.
Andrew Niccol
The film will shoot towards the end of the year and will be on sale at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
