Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, And Mister Terrific Cast For ‘Superman: Legacy’

James Gunn has started to fill out the cast of Superman: Legacy following the announcement that David Corenswet will play the title character.

Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, and Edi Gathegi have joined the cast as three classic DC characters.

Fillion, a long time Gunn collaborator, will be playing Guy Gardner, Earth’s right wing Green Lantern. This shows that Gunn is willing to recast actors from existing DC properties as new characters in his DCU as Fillion also featured in The Suicide Squad.

Merced will be taking on the role of Hawkgirl but it’s unclear what version of the character that she will be playing. Unless Gunn shakes things up, she will either be a reincarnation of an Egyptian princess or an alien space cop. Merced has recently be leaning into genre films, taking roles in the upcoming Madame Web and Alien: Romulus.

Finally, Gathegi is Mister Terrific and will most like be playing the second version of the character, Michael Holt. Holt is a former Olympian, a scientist, and the third smartest person in the DC Universe. Gathegi previously played a superhero in X-Men: First Class.

Gunn is writing and directing Superman: Legacy and the film is due out in two years.
