Sam Raimi has signed a deal with 20th Century Studio to develop a new horror film, titled ‘Send Help’, which he will produce and direct if it gets the green light.

The project, which is being described as as a mash up of Rob Reiner’s Stephen King adaptation Misery and Robert Zemeckis’ classic Castaway, is based on an original script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Baywatch). The pair’s previous work also includes 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason and 2009’s Friday the 13th remake.

The film will be the first horror that Raimi has directed since 2009’s Drag Me To Hell but he currently has two more Evil Dead films in the works as a producer.
