The Predator franchise has captured the imagination of audiences since the release of the original film in 1987, directed by John McTiernan and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. This action-packed sci-fi thriller introduced viewers to the formidable extra-terrestrial hunter, known as the Predator, who stalks a group of elite soldiers in the jungles of Central America. The film’s success spawned several sequels and spin-offs, expanding the lore and mythology of the Predator universe, which includes films like Predator 2 (1990), where the action shifts to an urban Los Angeles setting, and the popular Predators (2010), which brings a group of individuals together on a game reserve planet.
The franchise took an intriguing turn with the release of the prequel Prey in 2022, set in the 18th century, which showcases a young Comanche woman who faces off against the Predator in a breathtaking battle for survival. This fresh take on the series, directed by Dan Trachtenberg, was well received, both critically and commercially, revitalizing interest in the franchise. The two crossover films, Alien vs. Predator , have also contributed to the expanding narrative, blending the horror and action elements of both iconic franchises.
This year is a big one for the franchise with two new Dan Trachtenberg directed films being released. The first, the animated anthology Predator: Killer of Killers, is out now. The second, Predator: Badlands, is out in November

We Have Issues 
The first Predator being at #1 is undeniably just. Prey at #2 also for how it had most significantly dared to branch off into new territory for the Predator universe. Thank you for this list.
