The director of the soon to be released Obsession, Curry Baker, is in talks with A24 to write and direct the latest take on The Texas Chainsaw Massacre for A24.
This project is separate from A24’S television adaptation of the franchise that is being produced by Glen Powell.
Baker, 24, made his name with YouTube comedy shorts then released a $800 horror film on the platform for free. That film got him 2 million views and the attention of the studios. His first feature, Obsession, was launched at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and became one of the biggest sales. A24 were one of the bidders for the film but it went to Focus Features.
Roy Lee and Steven Schneider will produce the new film.
Obsession is released on 15th May.
