Universal’s Mummy franchise has risen from the dead with the stars of 1999’s The Mummy returning to star.

Brendan Fraser will be back for his fourth showdown with the wrapped villain and Rachel Weisz her third, in a film to be directed by Radio Silence duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

The directing pair are no strangers to legacy sequels, having laid out the rules in Scream (2022) and it’s sequel.

Sean Daniel, who produced the original movies is also back with frequent Radio Silence collaborators William Sherak, James Vanderbilt and Paul Neinstein also producing via their Project X Entertainment banner.

It is being reported that the project is not a reboot, but rather a sequel that would disregard the events of the third movie. David Coggeshall wrote the screenplay.
