We are finally getting the ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ series that fans have been crying out for with production due to start in March. There has also been confirmation that Hayden Christensen will return to the role of Darth Vader in the show. The story will be set in between the the Prequel and Original trilogies so there is scope for lots of different characters to show up. Here we look at who we would like to appear.
5. Bail Organa

Bail is one of the only characters that knows where Obi-Wan is. This is made clear in ‘Rogue One’ when Mon Mothma ask Bail to make contact with him. He is also undertaking the same mission as Obi-Wan of protecting one of the Skywalker children. If Bail appears it also presents the opportunity of introducing a young Leia. I’m sure a young Leia series would be something Disney+ are interested in doing.
4. Cad Bane

Cad Bane, the Clint Eastwood-like Duros bounty hunter from ‘The Clone Wars, has clashed with Obi-Wan many times. The character was original meant to die in that series but the episode was never produced when the show was cancelled after season five. Duros are one of the original aliens in Star Wars but we have never seen one have a prominent role in liveaction so it would be good to see Cad turn up as a villain or possibly a hero.
3. Commander Cody

Cody fought alongside Kenobi during the Clone Wars and then was the clone who tried to execute Order 66 on him. He failed but the order stayed active in clones who didn’t remove the chip. If Cody knows Kenobi is still alive he could still be trying to carry out his orders.
2. Owen Lars

Obi-Wan gave Luke to Owen and his wife to protect while he looked on from a distance. Owen accepted this responsibility without complaint in ‘Revenge Of The Sith’ but by the time of ‘A New Hope’ he doesn’t have a good relationship with Kenobi. Something clearly happened between these two men and this would be interesting to explore. Also, Joel Egderton (who played Owen in the prequels) is now a well respected actor and director in Hollywood and could bring extra kudos to the project.
1. Qui-Gon Jinn

Yoda informs Obi-Wan at the end of ‘Revenge Of The Sith’ that an old friend has found a way to return after death and will train him with this new knowledge. This friend was, of course, Qui-Gon and Liam Neeson seems willing to act in anything these days. Kenobi needs to learn how to be a force ghost from somewhere. Surely Qui-Gon has to appear and teach Obi-Wan a greater understanding of The Force.
