After over 400 hundred actresses were auditioned, Andy Muschietti has selected Daytime Emmy nominee Sasha Calle (‘Young and the Restless’) to play Supergirl in the upcoming ‘The Flash’ film that he is directing for Warner Bros. Pictures and DC Films.
The size of the character’s role in ‘The Flash’ is unknown but it is more than likely that a solo film will also be announced in the future. Also, there has been no mention of this being the Kara Zor-El version of the character which is the one that is currently being used by The CW.
How this affects the potential return of Henry Cavill as Superman is unknown. ‘The Flash’, starring Ezra Miller, is about to go into production.
