Stephen King’s killer car is returning to the big screen.
Bryan Fuller has signed with Sony Pictures and Blumhouse to write and direct ‘Christine’. The Stephen King novel has previously been adapted by John Carpenter in 1983. It’s the story of a shy teen who buys a ’58 Plymouth Fury that has a mind of its own and a murderous past. The horror ramps up as that car begins to have an impact on the youth and those around him.
Fuller’s background is in sci-fi and horror, working on shows such as ‘Hannibal’ and ‘Star Trek: Discover’, and is planning to keep the ’80s setting of the novel.
No release date has been announced but it will be a theatrical release.
