According to Cinelinx (a site I had not heard of until this report but that’s okay because they haven’t heard of us) an actor has been found to play a young Princess Leia in the currently film ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’.
Vivien Lyra Blair, whose credits include ‘Bird Box’ and ‘We Can Be Heroes’, is apparently the chosen one to play the young rebel but there is no confirmation from the ‘Star Wars’ producers at Lucasfilm. The major thing this report has going for it is Blair is age appropriate to play to future leader of the Rebel Alliance.
If Leia does feature in the series it is most like that it will be a cameo/Easter egg with her featuring in scenes with Jimmy Smits’ Bail Organa (whose appearance is also not confirmed). Although there are rumours of a young Luke also being cast there is no way the two characters could meet. It is also highly unlikely that she will interact directly with Obi-Wan.
The show will focus on Ewan McGregor’s Kenobi and his relationship with Hayden Christensen’s Vader. Other cast announced so far include Joel Edgerton, Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani and Benny Safdie. The series is filming now with no confirmed release date.
