HBO Max are looking to grow their DC Comics content by giving The Penguin his own series on the streaming service. They are reported to be developing a show that will based on Colin Farrell’s performance in the upcoming ‘The Batman’ with an offer going out to the actor to reprise his role. No deal has been made yet.
The show would focus on Oswald Cobblepot’s rise to the top of the Gotham underworld as The Penguin and would be a companion piece to the already announced unnamed Gotham P.D. series.
Lauren LeFranc (Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.) will write the pilot and ‘The Batman’ directing and producing team of Matt Reeves and Dylan Clark will oversee the project.
HBO Max have no comment but have numerous other DC shows are various stages of production including ‘Green Lantern’ and ‘Peacemaker’.
