‘Rogue Squadron’, which was set to be the first Star Wars film since ‘The Rise Of Skywalker’, has been removed from the Lucasfilm production schedule.
Patty Jenkins was due to direct the film, from a script by Matthew Robinson, but her commitments to other projects meant ‘Rogue Squadron’ wouldn’t hit it’s production dates. It was due to start filming next next for a December 2023 release. Lucasfilm executives have pressed pause on the project with the hope Jenkins can return at a later date.
Lucasfilm have several other films in development, including ones from Kevin Feige and Taika Waititi, but it is unclear if any of them are far enough along to move into Rogue Squadron’s release date.
