It is being reported that Delroy Lindo is in final negotiations to join Marvel Studios’ ‘Blade’ where he will appear alongside Mahershala Ali who has already been announced in the lead role.
The film is being directed by Bassam Tariq (‘Mogul Mowgli’) from a script by Stacy Osei-Kuffour (HBO’S ‘Watchmen’).
The MCU’s take in ‘Blade’ was announced at San Diego ComicCon in 2019 and has been slowly coming together since then. Wesley Snipes previously played the character in three films during the late 90s and early 2000s. Mahershala Ali’s version of the character could be heard at the end of ‘Eternals’.
There is no word on who Lindo could be playing but he is age appropriate to play Blade’s mentor, Whistler. Marvel, as per usual, have no comment but it is thought the film will shoot next year. At the moment there is no confirmed release date.
