The lead role in the upcoming Disney+ Star War show ‘The Acolyte’ has gone to Amandla Stenberg. The series is being developed by Leslye Headland, who will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
When ‘The Acolyte’ was announced by Disney+ last year it was described as a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.
No details about Stenberg’s character or the plot have been revealed. Stenberg is known for ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘The Hate U Give’, ‘The Darkest Minds’, ‘Everything, Everything’, and ‘Dear Evan Hansen’.
‘The Acolyte’ will go into production next year for a 2023 release.
