Lucasfilm Games have announced that they are joining with Skydance New Media to create a game set in the Star Wars universe. Skydance New Media was founded in 2019 by Amy Hennig, the creator of ‘The Uncharted’ series, with Electronic Arts veteran Julian Beak. While no details have been released about the game, Lucasfilm games described it as a “richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story.”
Hennig and Beak had previously been working on a Star Wars game for Visceral Games, going by the name of ‘Project Ragtag’, before it was cancelled by EA in 2017 because single player games were not seen as profitable at the time.
I’ve often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly. I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love.

This means there are now six Star Wars games known to be in production. These include Quantic Dream’s ‘Star Wars Eclipse’ set during the High Republic era, an open world adventure being developed by Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment, and a sequel to Jedi: Fallen Order that is expected to be unveiled during Star Wars Celebration at the end of May.
