News about the future of The Avengers franchise had been quiet until this weekend. Then at SDCC Kevin Feige announced ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Avengers: Secret Avengers’ are coming in 2025 but no other details were released.
Now it has been revealed that Destin Daniel Cretton, director of ‘Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings’, will be directing the first of those films. Cretton is a hot property at Marvel following ‘Shang-Chi’ and has a first look deal with the studio. He currently has a ‘Wonder Man’ series and ‘Shang-Chi’ sequel set up with them.
It has not been announced who is writing the film or which characters will be appearing but with Cretton’s involvement it is highly likely that he at least write a draft and be bringing Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi with him.
It is unclear if Cretton’s involvement with this film will impact his directing duties on ‘Shang-Chi 2’.
