Sony Remaking ‘Barbarella’ With Sydney Sweeney

Sydney Sweeney (‘Euphoria’) is set to star in and executive produce a new adaptation on ‘Barbarella’ for Sony Pictures.

The film will be based on Jean-Claude Forest’s French comic book series that was turned into a 1968 movie starring Jane Fonda. That film, directed by Roger Vadim, follows an astronaut from the 41st century who sets out to find and stop the evil scientist Durand Durand (the inspiration for the band name), whose Positronic Ray threatens to bring evil back into the galaxy. It went on to become a cult classic.
