Dwayne Johnson promised he would bring about a change in the hierarchy of power in the DC Universe. Unfortunately for him, the change was not what he was planning on. His film, ‘Black Adam’, ended up being a financial misfire fire for Warner Bros. and put the final nail in the coffin of the DCEU.
It looks like the new DC Studios heads, James Gunn and Peter Safran, are preparing to reboot their cinematic universe and, following a meeting with Johnson, it has been announced that a direct ‘Black Adam’ sequel will not be moving forward.
This a complete u-turn on what Johnson was preaching only a number of weeks ago. He had claimed that film was the first part in a large Black Adam story that would conclude with a fight against Superman.
The door has been left open for Johnson to work with DC again but there is no mention of when or whether it would be to reprise Black Adam.
