
‘Peaky Blinders’ and ‘SAS Rogue Heroes’ creator Steven Knight has been tapped to take over the writing duties on the next Star Wars film. Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson, who had been working on the script since last year, reportedly left the project after handing in a draft in February.
The movie is expected to carry on the story of the Star Wars universe after the events of ‘The Rise Of Skywalker’ and is rumoured to be official announced during Star Wars Celebration next month.
Knight has a long and varied career, having created the gameshow ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, worked on comedy series (‘The Detectives’), gritty dramas (‘Eastern Promises’, true life stories (‘SAS Rogue Heroes’), fantasy (‘See’), and long running epics (‘Peaky Blinders’).
Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is still attached to direct the film which has a release date of 19th December 2025.
