Horror master Mike Flanagan will be writing Clayface for DC Studios, a film based on the Batman villain.
It is not clear which version of the Clayface character Flanagan is adaption for the big screen or if the film will be stand alone, tie into the new DCU, or connect to Matt Reeves’ The Batman. There have been multiple takes on Clayface in the DC Comics, with the main two being a Phantom of the Opera-esque failed actor and a shape-shift freak.
Flanagan tweeted his desire to make a Clayface film back in 2021, describing his take as a “horror/thriller/tragedy.”
It is rumoured that the film will shoot early next year with DC Studios currently searching for a director.
