A new Alien film is in development at 20th Century Studios, with Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners, Raised by Wolves) writing the screenplay.

Ridley Scott is producing the project (alongside Michael Pruss through Scott Free) but is not directing it at this stage. No director has yet been attached.

The film is not a sequel to Alien: Romulus (2024). Instead, it is understood to be connected to Scott’s earlier films Prometheus (2012) and Alien: Covenant (2017). Sources indicate the link centres on the amoral android character David previously played by Michael Fassbender, although Fassbender himself is not currently attached.

This marks a reunion for Scott and Guzikowski, who previously collaborated on the HBO Max series Raised by Wolves (which Guzikowski created and Scott executive-produced, also directing the first two episodes).

Guzikowski was brought on board to revitalise the project, which is being overseen at the studio by Scott Aversano. Details of the story remain under wraps.
