After the critical and commercial success of the two ‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ films, SEGA are now looking to another of their franchises to make the leap from consoles to cinema screens.
Derek Kolstad, who created ‘John Wick’ and wrote the Bob Odenkirk vehicle ‘Nobody’, has turned in a script to adapt ‘Street Of Rage’. The first ‘Streets Of Rage’, a classic of the side-scrolling beat ’em up genre, is the story of former police offers who battle a crime syndicate and was released in 1991 on the SEGA Genesis. There has been numerous sequels across all consoles with ‘Streets of Rage 4’ being released in April 2020 and selling more than 2.5 million copies worldwide.
No release date has been set of the project.
