Top 5 Big Announcements That Could Blow The Roof Off Star Wars Celebration

Star Wars Celebration is under a week away and the anticipation for what news could be broken there is building.  The closer we get the more information is starting to leak our.  We know there is going to be a ‘Tales Of The Jedi’ animated series because the panel listing spoiled the surprise.  Then a Vanity Fair article confirmed that John Watts was doing a live action series and that Mary Elizabeth Winstead had a role in ‘Ahsoka’.

Hopefully these leaks and stories are shielding bigger news that will be announced at the event.  Here are five massive announcements that we think may happen at Celebration.

5. ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ is getting a second series

This is a bit of a long shot as ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ will only have air two episodes by this point. The series has been advertised as a six episode event and a limited series which means it will be a one and done. But, when asked on the press tour if he would like to do more, Ewan McGregor said he would come back.

Could there be an announcement on Ewan McGregor’s Star Wars future?

4. An animated Maul series

This must be one of the oldest rumours that is still around. There is a lot of fertile material that is ripe for the picking as there is around a seventeen year gap in Maul’s story from the end of ‘Tne Clone Wars’ to his death on ‘Rebels’.

The comic books have been exploring his criminal empire after his death but now could be the time we see his story told in live action.

3. Mena Massoud as Ezra Bridger and Lars Mikkelsen as Thrawn in ‘Ahsoka’

Massoud and Mikkelsen have been the fans’ choice to play Ezra and Thrawn in live action ever since ‘Rebels’ finished on a cliffhanger.

‘Ahsoka’ is shooting at the moment at a studio that isn’t too far away. It would be perfect if they brought the two actors out in costume during an ‘Ahsoka’ panel.

2. What Taika Waititi’s film is and when it is coming

It appears from the Vanity Fair article that Waititi’s film will to the next theatrical release with ‘Rogue Squadron’ having now been delayed but we know nothing about what this film is or when it is coming out.

This would be the perfect time to bring Taika out on stage and reveal all.

1.  John Watts’ series is set at Luke’s Jedi Academy

This series has been rumoured since the start of the year and has now been officially confirmed by Lucasfilm. We know it’s going to be an ’80s style kids adventure set in ‘The Mandalorian’ era and casting notices have been sent out for 12 year old kids. We saw the Jedi temple being built by a near perfect fake Luke in ‘The Book Of Boba Fett’. Everything seems to be lining up for Watts’ show to be set at the fledgling Jedi academy with Luke mentoring the new Padawans.
