Warner Bros. Discovery has pulled the ‘Batgirl’ film even though principal photography had been completed and $90 million had been spent on the production.
The film was planned to be released on HBO Max but new CEO David Zaslav has bigger plans for the DC Comics IP and a mid-budget ‘Batgirl’ didn’t fit the bill.
The studio appears to be happy with Leslie Grace, who was due to be the film’s star, and directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah and are looking for other projects for them.
The film was also to star Michael Keaton as Batman following his reintroduced in ‘The Flash’.
There has been no official comments from the studio or talent involved.
