
Robert Eggers clear has a thing for the Skarsgård family. Alexander was the lead in his last film ‘The Northman’. Now he has cast his brother Bill as the original Dracula knock off ‘Nosferatu’.
He will be joined by Lily-Rose Depp who has won the role of female lead.
This will be the third version of ‘Nosferatu’. The original was directed by F.W. Murnau and was an unauthorised adaption of ‘Dracula’ with the vampire, now called Count Orlok, played by Max Schrek. The film was remade in 1979 by Warner Herzog.
The gothic tale of obsession follows a haunted young woman (Depp) in 19th century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire (Skarsgård) who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.
Eggers will write and direct by no release date has been set.
