Liv Tyler Returns To The MCU In ‘Captain America: New World Order’

Fifteen years since she last played the character, Liv Tyler will reprise the role of Betty Ross in the upcoming fourth ‘Captain America’. Tyler last played the role in 2008’s ‘The Incredible Hulk’. This will make her the fifth actor to return from that film – Martin Starr featured in the ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy, William Hurt appeared as General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross (Betty’s father), across various films, Tim Roth was back as The Abomination in ‘Shang-Chi’ and ‘She-Hulk’, and Tim Blake Nelson also makes his return in ‘Captain America: New World Order’ as The Leader.

Edward Norton’s Bruce Banner/Hulk was replaced by Mark Ruffalo back in 2012’s ‘The Avengers’.

‘Captain America: New World Order’, the first Cap film to star Anthony Mackie as the titular hero, will see Harrison Ford take over the role of General Ross from the late Hurt and character will now be the President of the United States.

Also featuring in the new film will be Carl Lumbly, returning as original super-soldier Isaiah Bradley from ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’; Danny Ramirez, also from ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, as potential new Falcon Joaquin Torres; and MCU newcomer Shira Haas.

Directed by Julius Onah from a script by Malcolm Spellman and Dalan Musson, ‘Captain America: New World Order’ is due for release on 3rd May 2024.
