Day one of Star Wars Celebration Europe saw the directors for the upcoming ‘Stars War: Skeleton Crew’ announced. During the Lucasfilm showcase panel it was revealed that helmers would include newcomers to the Star Wars universe in the form of series creator/showrunner Jon Watts (the MCU’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy’ and the already rumoured David Lowery (‘The Green Knight’), Oscar winners The Daniels (‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’), and Jake Scherier (Marvel’s currently shooting ‘Thunderbolts’).
Joining them are ‘The Mandalorian’ veterans Bryce Dallas Howard and Lee Isaac Chung.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy compared the show’s tone to Amblin classic and it has been referred to as “Goonies in space”. It was stressed that while the cast were predominantly children that this was not necessarily a kids show.
Jude Law leads the show as a force user in hiding and the child cast includes Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, and Robert Timothy Smith.

The show has completed principle photography and is currently in post production. A trailer was shown to those in the room but was not released online. It’s expected that the show will be released on Disney+ at the end of the year.
