During the Lucasfilm Showcase at Star Wars Celebration Europe, ‘The Acolyte’ creator, showrunner, executive producer and director Leslye Headland took to the stage to delivery new information about the show and said the her pitch for the show was ‘Kill Bill’ meets ‘Frozen’.
It’s about the bad guys, it’s set between the High Republic and the prequel era and has plenty of Jedi. This is when the bad guys are outnumbered, they are underdogs.

The show will be inspired by the classic samurai film that inspired George Lucas.
The cast includes Amandla Stenberg, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carrie Anne Moss, Lee Jung-jae and Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo playing a Wookiee Jedi Master. A trailer was screen for those in the room that showed a class of young students in a Jedi temple, Moss fighting Stenberg, a yellow lightsaber, and a shot of a group of eight Jedis igniting their sabers.
‘The Acolyte’ will be released next year.
